VANCOUVER, December 2, 2009 — Hot Tomali recently won a bronze award at the 2009 Media Innovation Award Gala held in Toronto on November 12.
Hot Tomali was awarded for their work for the Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU) in a public awareness campaign to raise awareness about the offshoring of Canadian jobs to foreign countries. The campaign consisted of Canada’s first National Unemployment Clock, a real-time clock counting the number of unemployed Canadians, which was mounted on a truck and driven across Canada. The clock was in sync with the campaign website (www.keepjobsincanada.ca), which allowed Canadians to track the truck traveling across Canada via GPS and read tweets, see photographs, and watch videos from the road.
The campaign resulted in over $1M of free media coverage, and an ROI of 323%.
