Hot Tomali Recognized by Ethics in Action for Community Care

VANCOUVER, Sept 15, 2005 — Hot Tomali Communications is a finalist in the Community Care Category of the 2005 Ethics in Action Awards. The Ethics in Action Awards is an annual event recognizing BC businesses that exemplify good corporate citizenship by making corporate social responsibility a key aspect of their daily operations. The Community Care category honours businesses that have developed innovative and meaningful community partnerships and programs.

Alison Stringham, Hot Tomali’s VP Operations, says the ability to think outside the box is one important reason Hot Tomali made the list: “To conduct an annual United Way Campaign and receive a Gold Award is not a huge achievement; to involve other companies in the area and create a community-based initiative goes beyond expectations.” Next week Hot Tomali will lead a building-wide United Way campaign and a centralized mini golf fundraising event.

“It is fantastic recognition!” says Alison Stringham. “The fundraising and in-kind services we provide for numerous non-profits is extremely rewarding—to be recognized for it is just a big bonus. Hopefully the attention generated from Ethics in Action will encourage more organizations to get involved with corporate philanthropy.”

Each year, Hot Tomali donates thousands of dollars of in-kind services to deserving organizations such as the International Dyslexia Association, The Vancouver Board of Trade's Leaders of Tomorrow program, the BC Lupus Society, Covenant House, and the BC Library Association.
